THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and that is without error in its original writings. We believe it to be our authority in all matters of faith and conduct, revealing to us God’s very nature and His plans for humanity and redemption.
2 Timothy 3:16
THE GODHEAD
We believe in one God, who is the Creator of all things, who is one in essence and exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is all-good, all-powerful, ever-present and all-knowing. We believe not only did God create the amazing universe in which we live, but He continues to sustain it.
2 Corinthians 13:14, Matthew 28:19, Genesis 1-2, Colossians 1:15-17
HUMANITY
We believe that humanity was created by God, male and female in His image and as such every human has intrinsic dignity, value and purpose. We believe God created humanity to know Him, love Him, enjoy Him, glorify Him and to live with Him forever.
Genesis 1-2
SIN
We believe that sin, the rejection and rebellion against God, has left the world in darkness, separated from God and each one of us in need of saving. As we are unable in our fallen nature to save ourselves and gain right standing with God, God in His love has provided the way for us to be free from the slavery of sin and the debt of our transgressions.
Genesis 3, Psalm 53, Romans 3:9-12, Isaiah 53:6
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was born as a man through a Virgin conception by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is one person, with two natures, God and Man. We believe He died on the cross to pay the debt of mankind’s sin and that He rose again after three days and now is at the right hand of the Father. We believe in His eventual return in glory as King.
John 1, Romans 8:34, Hebrews 4:15, Hebrews 9:15, Revelation 20-21
SALVATION
We believe that one can only be saved by God’s grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9, Colossians 1:19-20, Ephesians 2:8-9
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is also God, and brings glory to and reveals Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of sin and regenerates us from spiritual death to repentance and faith. He empowers and guides believers in their walk with God and equips the Church with spiritual gifts, administering them to each individual according to His will.
John 16:7-16, Acts 2:1-13, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11
